♥ Latest obsession| The Body Shop strawberry body butter review ♥

Image

Hello sweeties, how are you? Today I wanted to briefly talk about a body product that I’ve been obsessing over the past few days. This is one of the well known body butters from The Body Shop, in the strawberry scent. I’ve tried a bunch of their body butters, and I must say I’m impressed! This particular packaging is adorable, I’m so sad they’re changing the labels, but gladly the formula is remaining the same! They all have different textures and ingredients, and I love this particular one!

Image

Not only it smells to die for (like strawberry yogurt, in a very good way) and the fragrance does linger, it has the most lovely whipped texture ever. It’s fluid enough to apply all over your body, which I find hard with some of the other body butters, but really rich and moisturizing at the same time. It’s so delightful in every way…

I highly recommend you try any of the body butters from The Body Shop, but specially the strawberry one… I would definitely purchase the full size! Have a great weekend, lovelies! xx ♥

♡ Today’s misses| Beauty products I won’t repurchase (Hermés, Clinique, The Body Shop and more!) ♡

Hello sweeties, how are you? I know I never really post new content during school days, but I’m having a more relaxed couple of  weeks before I go back to hardcore studying, and I really wanted to catch up with you. I’m so excited because I just hit 200 followers, which is so unbelievable to me… I want to thank each one of you for being incredibly nice and supportive! Blogging has been the highlight of my day lately, and I’m so grateful that I get to share it with all of you! Today’s post is actually going to be more negative than usual, but I thought it would be helpful and maybe fun to read. I’m going to talk about a few products that have disappointed me and that I wouldn’t consider repurchasing. Before I start, let me just tell you that I love all the brands mentioned, I just wasn’t pleased with these products individually. Also, just because I didn’t enjoy them, it doesn’t mean you won’t! Let’s get started!

Image

Here’s an overview of all the products. You can probably see some Hermés, Clinique, The Body Shop and a few other brands…

Image

The first thing I wanted to mention is this perfumed body lotion by Hermés. I received it a few months ago as a gift, it’s called UN JARDIN APRÈS LA MOUSSON, and let me tell you it’s a beautiful name. Also, this came in a goregous box, and just the fact that it’s Hermés made me really excited. However, I wasn’t thrilled by the scent. It smelled a lot like oranges, but at first I thought it was fine. Then, I tried using it and the scent transferred terribly on to the skin, I can’t really explain it, it just smelled like bad oranges mixed with rain to to me! I guess they wanted to capture the essence of nature after it rains, but they did a really bad job in my opinion! I tried giving it to so many people, but no one wanted to take it because I guess the scent’s just not that pleasant. Maybe I just got a bad one, maybe it’s not my cup of tea… I just wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. If you’re looking for a higher end perfumed lotion, you might want to try another scent from the brand.

Image

Next, I have the Clinique clarifying lotion. This is their toner for dry to combination skin, and it comes in the 3 Step System kit. I might sound controversial, because I included this in one of my previous monthly favorites, since I liked it so much back then. It’s really clarifying and removes all the impurities, so I thought it was good for me. In fact, the reason why I got it was because the lady in the Clinique Counter suggested this after analyzing my skin. However, I discovered that the more I used this toner, the drier my skin got, so the more oil it produced! I decided to take a break from it and during the first week I broke out here and there, but after that my skin got so much better… It’s been over a month, and I haven’t broken out ever since! This leads me to believe that the lady working at Clinque wanted to make me use more and more product each time, since it’s good for the business. I could be totally wrong and she could have done it thinking it was the right thing, but either way I wish I had picked it up myself. Like this, I would have gone for a more gentle toner that I would get more use out of!

Image

Next, I wanted to mention this drugstore conditioner from the french brand Le Petit Marseillais. I’ve had some positive experiences with this brand, but I have to say I didn’t like this product at all. I saw right when I bought it that it was quite thick in texture, so I assumed it would be richer and more moisturizing. However, it just didn’t work well for me. My hair didn’t feel soft when I applied it in the shower or when I rinsed it off, and it dried coarse and tangly. The problem for me wasn’t really the price, since it was so cheap, it was really a matter of opportunity, because I had to go out that day and get a different conditioner to pair with this one, since I didn’t like the effect of it on its own at all!

Image

Then, I wanted to mention this product from The Body Shop, it’s just called Bronzing Powder and the shade is 04 . Even though I’ve hit pan on it pretty badly, I didn’t really enjoy this bronzer. It was so orange and didn’t blend very nicely… if you apply it with a denser brush, it’s so easy to mess up! You have to really work with it and blend it in to make sure it looks natural. Also, the packaging had terrible quality… the pan got separated from the container even though I never dropped it, and the golden logo in the front rubbed off really quickly, looking poorly made. I feel like The Body Shop could do so much better!

Image

As you can see, it looks really orange…

Image

Once you blend it in it looks quite nice, but it takes time and effort to make it look like this…

IMG_5289

I also wanted to mention how disappointed I was with Blistex. Since this brand is so hyped, I wanted to try out one of their lip balms… They only sell certain items in my country, one of them was the Raspberry Lemonade blast, and I decided to try it because it sounded quite nice. Let me just tell you how strong and fake the scent is, it just makes me feel sick! It also tastes the same way, it’s way over the top. Also, the consistency is really bad, the balm melts way too easily, so when you slide it on your lips, big chunks of product come off and start building up, which isn’t attractive at all! I was so disappointed with this lip balm and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone!

Image

And finally I wanted to talk about the vasenol (comparable to vaseline, it’s the portuguese name) lip therapy. Out of all the products I mentioned, this is the one that I like the best… It still does it job at keeping my lip soft. The point is that it’s so thick, it’s doesn’t melt on to your lips nicely, making it quite hard to apply. Some balms start out like this and slowly melt, but I’m almost out of this and it hasn’t changed… Also, the soft feeling goes away quite fast, and it doesn’t have any scent, resulting in a really boring lip balm…

So that will be it for today, I hope this post wasn’t too negative! Thank you so much for reading and, once again, for all your support! I love you all so much, my lovelies! xx ♡♡♡

♡ A fragrant spring| My favorite body products, perfume and more! ♡

Image

Hello my lovelies, how are you? I hope you’re having a great weekend! I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I was so busy with school the past couple of weeks, but I’m back today with a really fun post… I’ll show you my favorite body products, perfume and lippies for spring. They all work really well, and combined they just make you smell delicious. I always get compliments when I use these goodies! Before I begin, let me tell you about this lovely song mashup, it’s seriously flawless, click right here to listen to it. Let’s get started!

Image

Right after I get out of the shower, the first thing I do is moisturize my body. I tend to reach for the Vineyard Peach body lotion from the body shop a lot, because the texture is amazing… It’s light and absorbs really quickly into the skin, so it’s perfect if you’re running late, and the sweet and creamy peachy scent is to die for! It will last on your skin for about 3 hours, which I also really like! I highly recommend the body shop’s body products in general!

Image

If I have a bit more time in my hands, I like to use a thicker body cream, like this one from Babaria. It leaves my skin really soft and the lovely raspberry scent lingers without being excessively noticeable. Also, it’s quite cheap for the huge amount that you get, I highly recommend it! The only downside would have to be the fact that it takes longer to absorb, and you have to rub it in a bit more…Image

For my fragrance, I’ve been reaching for this one a lot. This is Nina Fantasy by Nina Ricci, just take a look at how adorable the bottle is! The fragrance itself is perfect for spring, it’s a lovely floral, but not the musky, old lady-ish floral. The main accords are rose, but the pear and mandarin notes cut down the floral, making it happy and vibrant. Plus, it literally lasts all day long, fading into some sweeter, vanilla notes.

Image

On the lighter side of things, I’ve been going for the DKNY Sweet Delicious Pink Macaroon perfume a lot. At first I thought it was too light and barely noticeable, but I realized that if you spritz it a bit more than you normally would, it stays on quite well. I just love how this is the perfect blend of sweet, floral and fruity!

Image

The final step is to apply a delicious smelling lip balm. These ones are both tinted, which I think is perfect for spring and summer, so you don’t need to apply full on lipstick. I have one from women’s secret that is really waxy and shiny, basically a lip gloss, and one from agatha ruiz de la prada, which I’ve mentioned before… It’s vaseline based, whith vitimin E to moisturize your lips, and slightly tinted. Both tins are adorable, and the scents are really nice too, I always get asked why I smell so good whenever I wear them!

Image

As you can see, it’s a really gorgeous, glossy vibrant pink. The shade is watermelon, I believe, and I think it would be a great dupe for a lot of more expensive MAC lip glosses… The main point is that it smells like watermelon, it’s so delicious!

Image

The one from agatha ruiz de la prada is really light and creamy, smells like cherries and has a slight pink tint. It looks beautiful on both your lips and your cheeks for an extra glow!

Image

Here are the swatches under direct sun light of women’s secret watermelon lip balm (pretty pop of pink) and the agatha ruiz de la prada cherry lip balm (quite sheer, but looks great on).

I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you so much for reading! Feel free to leave any thoughts, questions or suggestions, I’d love to read them! Have a great day, sweeties! xx ♡♡♡

♥ Spring haul| Cath Kidston, clothing and haircare ♥

Hello my lovelies, how are you? Today I have a fun spring haul to show you. Before we start, you might think I went back to being a three year old, but I just really enjoy cute floral patterns! I got a few things from Cath Kidston (my cousin brought them from Madrid if you were wondering, but you can order their stuff online here), a couple spring tops and some haircare goodies from the drugstore. By the way, I recently put up my April favorites… if you want to check them out, click here. Let’s get started!

IMG_5239

The first thing I got was this adorable tote bag. I love the floral pattern so much, it’s really feminine and innocent. The background is white, which keeps it really clean looking, and it looks really well made.

Image

Then, I got his floral makeup bag. I love the pattern and the material is pretty nice too, you can clean it easily. I just love florals all year around, but spring is the perfect time to rock them!

Image

Lastly, from Cath Kidston, I got this lip balm in the scent Blossom. It smells really nice, just quite neutral, and it’s packed with vitamin E and a bunch of other great ingredients.

Image

For clothing, I purchased this sweater from Springfield. I know what you’re thinking… lulu, are you crazy? Why are you getting a sweater in the middle of spring? But the fabric is really thin, so it will be perfect for those chilly nights. Also, the peachy pink color is lovely for the season, and I find it really flattering on brunette/ tan girls.

Image

I also got this flowy top from Benetton. Once again, I’m just crazy about the florals! It’s quite simple but looks really nice on, paired with some light wash skinnies and white converse. By the way, I think this is from the kids department… But somehow it fits me, so please don’t judge me!

Image

And finally, I got some new hair products from the drugstore. There were so many new products to try out this time, but I only got the things I actually needed, so I’m really proud of myself! The first thing I picked up was the Hello Hydration mask from herbal essences, because I’m almost done with my L’oreal one (it’s from the Re-nutrition line, in case you’re interested), and I thought this would be a good option. I love the hello hydration conditioner that they make, plus the whole line smells like hawaiian coconut and orchids! Also, I’ve heard people like essiebutton saying good things about this mask, so let’s see how it goes!

I also picked up a new hair oil/serum. My hair is really wavy and a bit dry, so I love using a good serum to nourish my ends and make my locks look healthier and prettier. I always go for the herbal essences serums because they’re super cheap and last for ages, but they were sold out this time… Instead, I picked up the Garnier Ultra Suave oil (with argan oil). Garnier has never let me down, I love all the hair products I’ve tried from them, so I decided to give this a try. By the way, this is comparable, if not the same, to the Garnie Ultimate Beauty Oil, and I’ve heard kate from ghostparties say it’s really good. Again, let’s see how it goes!

So that will be it for today, thanks for reading! Let me know what you think of the things I got! I’ll see you any time soon, love you all! xx

♡ April Favorites ♡

Hello my lovelies, how are you? I hope you’re having a great day. April has finally come to an end, so today I’ll show you everything I’ve been loving this past month, plus some really fun releases to look forward during may. Enjoy! ♡♡

IMG_5240

So firstly, we have a lip balm. This one is called soft rose, and it’s quite nice at keeping your lips soft, but what I love about it is how it leaves a stunning pinky sheen on the lips. It’s perfect on the go, you can apply it without a mirror and the packaging is adorable. This is one of those affordable lippies I like to keep in my bag during spring, it’s really cute and girly, plus it keeps your lips soft!

Next, I loved this past month was the DKNY sweet delicious pink macaroon perfume. To be honest, this isn’t the best scent I’ve tried, but it’s really fun and happy for the spring. There are fruity notes, such as nectarine, bergamont and pomegranate, a hint of floral (rose) and a hint of sweetness (marzipan). This mix of scents actually works out really well, very flirty and fun. I wouldn’t call it my favorite out of my collection, but it’s nice for the season and I’ve been wearing it a lot!

During April, I used this body lotion so much… it’s empty now! This is the Dove hydro nourishment lotion, and what I love about it is how lightweight the texture is, hence the name. It’s great if you have classes early in the morning but you still want to moisturize your body, because it absorbs so quickly, so you don’t have to wait for it to dry. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend, specially because it’s so cheap!

Remember last month I showed you the L’oreal Triple Active makeup removing cleanser, from L’oreal Paris? This month I purchased the toner from the same line, and I’m obsessed! It has a very light, soothing fragrance and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean after a long day. Also, it removes any makeup you might still have left on your skin. And, again, it’s really affordable. This is the kind of product you would pay 20 bucks for at sephora, but for a lot cheaper! I have to say L’oreal has impressed me a lot these past months… I love their makeup and haircare, and now I found out this awesome skincare line!

Finally, for haircare, I really enjoyed this shampoo. It’s the Petit Marsellais Shine shampoo with Royal Gelee. The first couple times I used it I loved the results, but as I kept using it, it made my hair fall limp. Then, I checked the ingredients, and that’s when I saw the royal gelee… it was a protein shampoo! Protein shampoos are meant to be used like hair masks/ deep conditioners, about once a week, to give your hair a little help and make it shiny and soft. During April, I started using it once or twice a week, and it worked amazingly! It lathers up really well and smells really luxurious and expensive, but it’s actually really affordable! I highly recommend this, just keep in mind that you shouldn’t use it every single wash!

This past month, I’ve been obsessed with so many youtubers…

SHAAANXO- If you haven’t heard of Shannon before, you have to check her out. I’m completely obsessed with her. She’s so pretty and amazing with makeup, plus she’s really creative! She posts every other day, and every single time I watch her, she surprises me with a new, completely original video. She does a lot of makeup tutorials and get ready with me’s, but they’re always really different and fun to watch. Watching her videos always gives me so many great ideas for new looks!

DANI AUSTIN2- The moment I discovered dani, I just wanted to watch all her videos. She’s so fun and bubbly, she has the best personality, plus she’s absolutely stunning and has the most amazing body ever (I wish I was athletic and energetic like her). Watching her videos has been my favorite way to loose time, you have to check them out!

CHECKINTHEMIRROR- Rachel has quickly become one of my favorite beauty gurus ever. I just can’t get over how real and down to earth she is. She sounds like an amazing, real person, someone you could be friends with in real life. She’s one of the few gurus that never goes overboard with her beauty obsession, and I really like that. Plus, she’s just flawless, and that’s all I’ll say for now. Just check out her channel and you’ll love her!

LANDONAUSTIN- Landon was definitely my youtube crush of the month. Besides being sooo good loking, have you heard his voice? Then you should go and check out his music right now, I promise you won’t regret it!

And for beauty blogger of the month…

KISS & MAKEUP- I’ve always loved Melissa’s beauty blog, but this month is when the obsession really started. She’s just so amazing! She keeps her blog really professional, but with a personal touch, and does really informative reviews and a bunch of other fun things. I really love her blog, you have to check it out!

For music, I loved ONCE IN A LIFETIME, JUST GIVE ME A REASON (Landon’s version too), GET FREE and THE WAY. You have to check them out!

And my movie of the month was SAFE HAVEN. Based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, it’s about Katie, a woman from Boston who was suddenly forced to leave her husband. After a long trip, she found herself in North Carolina, where she later met someone… Alex let her into his life, and they quickly fell in love. And you probably know the rest of the story… I personally never read the book, but I really liked the movie. I loved the happy ending, and of course the guy who plays Alex is really attractive, so it’s worth watching!

And finally, I thought I should let you know about a couple really fun releases to look out for during the next month. The first one is the new THE GREAT GATSBY (awesome trailer here) movie with Leonardo di Caprio. Where I live, it’s coming out in may 10th, and I can assure you I will watch it. I actually read the book not that long ago, and I did watch the older movie with Robert Redford, but I’m really excited for a new version of it. Plus, who doesn’t love Leonardo di Caprio? We all do.

Also, 90210 is coming back this may! I’m really excited for season 5, even though I heard it’s really bad and it got cancelled half way through… But I’ll watch it anyway because I’m obsessed like that.

So that will be it for today, I hope you enjoyed my endless list of favorites. Feel free to leave a comment with any thoughts, suggestions or questions, I’d love to know what things you enjoyed this past month! Thanks for reading, sweeties! xx ♡♡♡

♥ Mini Avène haul| New “frech pharmacie” goodies! ♥

Hello my lovelies, how are you? Yes, I’m aware that I uploaded my last blog post a few hours ago (check it out here, I’m sure you’ll like it!) but I had some time in my hands and a bag filled with new Avène goodies, so I thought you would like to see them… Plus, I know all of you out there love french skincare products. Let me quickly tell you that if you ever come to Portugal and walk into any pharmacy, you will enter a beauty paradise, because all our pharmacies sell avène, eucerin, caudalie, nuxe, la roche posay, bioderma and many other lovely skincare brands. By the way, I’m listening to an amazing song, it’s a little quirky and weird, but I quite like it… check it out here. Enjoy!

[UPDATE: I just wanted to make a really quick announcement so I could update you... I just started to use bloglovin and I want to follow all of my readers, so make sure to follow me there so I can follow you back! The link is at the end of the page, but I'll link it here as well.]

Image

Here’s an overview of the goodies I picked up. I only needed a new face wash and moisturizer, but they were having a buy 2 get 1 free deal, so I picked up a third product I’ve never tried before. Let me just tell you how much I love Avène, it’s by far my favorite skincare brand. I have young skin, I don’t suffer from severe acne but still get a couple spots now and then, and I love it how most of their products (if not all) have thermal spring water in them. That key ingredient is what purifies my skin, so as long as I use their products, I can do whatever I want with my skin, and my breakouts will be under control. I highly recommend Avène products for all ages, but specially for younger, problematic skins.

Image

This first product is my holy grail cleanser, it’s the soapless cleanser from the Cleanance line, specifically formulated for oily, blemish-prone skins. This seems like it would act like any other face wash, but the amazing ingridients (it’s rich in thermal spring water) not only prevent the breakouts, they also clear up your skin because of their purifying properties. If you’re like me and you never go near drying lotions or abrasive spot treatments, this is the best for you. In about 6 uses (use it morning and night for 3 days) your active spot will be gone without even scaring! The moment I sense a spot is coming, I just wash my face with this, focusing on the targeted area, and it goes away wihtout leaving trace. You have to try this product!

Image

The next product I got was also from the Cleanance line, this is the anti-shine regulating lotion. I haven’t tried this before, but the guy at the pharmacy (Guys always have the best recommendations for me, don’t ask why!) recommended this to me as my free product. He said it was a spot treating moisturizer, so it isn’t abrasive like a drying lotion, but the ingredients in it will clear up my skin. It’s basically the moisturizer version of the cleanance cleanser, the complementary product. The guy told me to use this as my night cream after I’ve washed my face. I’ll make sure to let you know how I like this once I’ve tried it!

Image

And finally we have another moisturizer. This one is from a different range, it’s the Hydrance Optimale light hydrating cream. I’ve been using this for ages, it’s my favorite moisturizer. It’s super light, non-greasy, absorbs really fast and keeps my blemishes under control (even thought is just a regular moisturizer, the ingredients are really good). Plus, for a couple more euros, you can get the spf 20 anti-oxidant version, which is great for the spring and summer. I will forever re-purchase this cream.

So that will be it for today, I hope you liked my mini haul. Feel free to leave any thoughts, questions or suggestions in the comment box, and let me know what your french skincare favorites are, I would love to know! Thanks for reading, lovelies! xx ♥♥♥

♥ Effects of the moon phases on your body + beauty treatement schedule according to the lunar cycle ♥

Hello my lovelies, how are you? I hope you’re having a great weekend! The other day, I came across this article about the lunar cycle and how it affected the human body. I got interested and did some research… Apparently, if you keep up with the different moon phases, you will be able to know the best moment to treat different parts of your body, in order to make the most out off your beauty treatments and achieve overall wellness. Today I will guide you through a beauty schedule I’ve created, following the lunar cycle and its effects on your body. Let’s get started!

[DISCLAIMER: I tried to get as many scientific facts involved as I could, but some of the information I provide might be simply a myth. This is just my take on the topic. I'm only trying to entertain my readers and inspire them to make the most out of their beauty regime.]

moon

I defined 2 periods of time with really different consequences in our bodies. From the waxing moon to the full moon, and from the wanning moon to the new moon. Let’s see what differences there are!

Image

Waxing moon/ First quarter – Full moon

The skin’s ability to absorb increases, so it’s the perfect time for pampering! I recommend oil baths and massages since they leave your skin nourished and glowy. This is the best time to experiment with aromatherapy and natural oils!

Image

It’s also the best moment to deeply moisturize your skin. Just take any rich balm/ salve and rub it in the dry patches in your body to soften them up.

Image

Keep your body lotions and potions handy! Hand and body creams will be your best friends at this point.

Image

And don’t forget the face! I recommend the dramatically different moisturizing lotion because it deeply nourished the skin, but the lightweight, fluid texture leaves it comfortably matte. You can also give yourself a nice facial during this time.

I also wanted lo let you know that during this period of time (lasts a couple of weeks- check out this month’s lunar calendar here) the body’s pain perception increases, so this isn’t really the best time for waxing/ plucking!

Image

Wanning moon/ Last quarter – New moon

While the moon is “restoring” itself, your body is doing exactly the same thing. This is the best time for an internal cleanse, s0 drink a lot of water to remove any toxins in your body. Green tea is also a great option because of the anti-oxidants and its uplifting properties! This is also the best time to start a new diet, so if you’re planning on switching up your eating habits, this is the time to give it a try!

Image

During these couple of weeks, your skin is renewing itself as well. New skin cells are on their way, so this is the time to detox/ purify the skin on your face. This is the best time to try out mud/ clay facials. Also, remember to exfoliate to keep up with the renewing process!

Image

And the same thing goes for your body! Remember to exfoliate on a regular basis (once a week, maybe) with a yummy smelling scrub! This would also be the time for clay/ mud treatments or body peelings at your local spa!

Finally, during this period of time the body’s perception of pain decreases and the hair re-grow slows down, so it’s the perfect time to get waxed, lasered, plucked…

So those are my little tips to make the most out off your beauty regime! Remember to check out the calendar, I’ll link it again here. Thank you so much for reading, feel free to leave any thoughts, suggestions or questions in the comment box. Love you, sweeties! xx ♥♥♥

♥ April Empties ♥ products I’ve used up| Lulu’s Beauty Spot

Image

Hello my lovelies! How are you? I hope you’re having a great weekend so far. Today I looked at my empties basket (keep it in my bedroom) and realized I had a significant amount of products, so I decided to show them to you and tell you my opinion about them. Here is an overview of the products I have used up in the last couple months… obviously not just during April! I hope you enjoy this and find it helpful! By the way, I’m listening to this song, you have to check it out!

Image

The first product I used up was the Garnier Fructis Citrus Mint Fresh shampoo. It was really cheap, lasted quite a while and worked amazingly for my hair. It removed all the excess oils from my roots without drying out my hair too much, smelled really good and lathered up like a dream. I got really good hair days with this shampoo, I was really impressed! I featured this in my march empties, I believe. I really want to do a review on this, some of you requested it, maybe you will see it sometime this week!

Image

Next, we have another garnier product. Garnier is definitely my favorite drugstore brand for haircare! This is the Ultra Suave detangling spray, specifically made for really messy knots. It has green apple and cactus extracts, so it smells like fresh and slightly sweet. I love using this on damp hair to make it soft and conditioned, while removing all the knots and tangles. It’s very lightweight, so you can also use it on dry hair, to give it that beach babe texture. This is a staple in my everyday haircare!

Image

I also used up a body lotion from dove. This one is called Indulgent Nourishment, and I couldn’t agree more with the claims dove makes. This is the best drugstore lotion I’ve tried so far. At first I hated this because it left a little residue for the first couple of hours, so I thought it would be another crappy lotion that would stay on top of the skin without really soaking in, but at the end of the day, my skin felt so, so smooth. Seriously, this moisturizes so deeply, even more than my body butters (the body shop included!), but without leaving me feeling greasy. The small residue is pleasant and goes away after a couple hours. Also, you don’t have to worry about it getting on your clothes. I always shower in the morning and moisturize right after, and I’ve never felt sticky putting my jeans on. I highly recommend this product for people with severely dry skin, this healed all my dry patches and worked amazingly during the winter months, plus it’s cheap and the shea butter scent is to die for!

Image

I finished another dove product, this is the caring lip balm (check here for a review/comparison) . It’s very classic… clear, not much scent, not a lot of shine. Just deep moisture for soft lips! It’s quite thick and waxy at first, doesn’t melt too easily, but slowly turns into a really creamy consistency. It goes really nicely on the lips, and it’s the perfect base for lipstick, or just on its own. It’s my favorite lip balm from the drugstore so far, because it stays on for so long and repairs the worst cracks! The only down side is the packaging, it’s really weak plastic and broke here and there, but nothing crazy. I’m using the vaseline lip care at the moment (the tube version, nothing like the regular vaseline) and it’s actually quite nice, but it wears off really easily, which leads me to apply it every fifteen minutes or so. Smart move, vaseline, making us buy more! I will certainly go back to dove next time!

Image

Next, we have a sample sized mouth wash. This is orthodontic, so I used it back when I still had braces. Like the vitis toothpaste (mentioned before) it has a different taste, I wanna say green apple and aloe? It sounds weird but it’s quite good, however I’m more of a mint person. I won’t be re-purchasing because I don’t need it anymore, but if you want a mouthwash specifically for your braces, I would recommend looking into ortho kin instead.

I also used up a sample of the kin gingival toothpaste. I’m a big fan of kin products, but I had never tried this range. When I had my braces off, my gum was a bit red and sore, so my dentist gave me some samples to calm down the reaction. This worked really well, and brought my gum back to normal. I highly recommend this toothpaste if you have any redness/ infections.

I also used up a sample of the Nivea Happy Time lotion. It claims to leave your skin with a citrus-fresh sensation. I liked the consistency a lot, but to be honest this was almost expired, I just wanted to get rid of it, so the scent wasn’t that nice anymore. However, I’m curious to try the full size for spring/ summer, let me know if you’ve tried this before!

And finally, my sad emptie! This is DKNY sweet delicious creamy merengue perfume. The sweet delicious collection came out last spring, I believe. and there were three amazing fragrances, really sweet and inspired by cupcakes and bakery. This scent was to die for, the perfect blend of citrus and vanilla! I’m so sad this is gone because it is limited edition, so I can’t get it anymore. Let me know if you’ve ever heard of a similar fragrance, I would love to try it!

So that will be it for today sweeties, thank you so much for reading! Feel free to leave a comment with any thoughts, requests or suggestions, I love reading them! xx ♥♥♥

♥ Beauty haul| Great finds for lower prices + New perfume! ♥

Image

Hello my lovelies! How are you? Today I did a little shopping at an outlet store (douglas outlet) and I brought home some great finds! If you have an outlet near you, I recommend you go check it out, because you can save a significant amount of money and find products you wouldn’t find anywhere else, like past limited edition collections, discontinued products… Here’s an overview of the things I got. Enjoy!

I got a new perfume! This is from the DKNY sweet delicious collection. It came out last spring I believe, an it consists of 3 limited edition fragrances, inspired by cupcakes, muffins and all things sweet and adorable. Last year I got the yellow version called creamy meringue and I absolutely loved it, I used it all up! This outlet was selling the last bits of this collection, and I wanted to try one of the two other fragrances. They also had a green one called tart key lime (really nice and fresh) and a pink one called pink macaron. I went for pink macaron, really sweet with soft floral and fruity notes. I will certainly talk about this in another post, I’m sure I will use this a lot this spring! By the way, this originally costed around 38€, and I paid around 27€ for it!

The next thing I got was a body wash from the Douglas Time To line, a great line of body products for all moods. This one is Time to get zen, and it smells like coconut and yoghurt. It’s the perfect blend of tropical yumminess and yoghurt creaminess. It originally costed 5€, but I got it for 2€.

For skincare, I picked up a face scrub from the douglas beauty system line. It’s called Perfect Complexion, and it gently removes dead skin cells and slowly removes impurities and black heads. It was around 15€. Let’s see how it works!

I also got some perfume samples. I got cacharel’s amor amor in a flash, a new edition to amor amor. It’s described as the thrill of love at first sight, which sounds really good.  I also got a couple samples of Tommy Hilfiger’s Flower, a very floral perfume that I quite enjoyed, so the lady gave me these to try.

So that will be it for today, thank you so much for reading. Feel free to leave any thoughts or recommendations in the comment box! I will see you all really soon! xx ♥♥♥

I ♡ spring TAG| Lulu’s beauty spot

Hello my lovelies, how are you? The I ♡ spring tag has been all over youtube lately, so I decided to do it today! It’s just a really fun way to talk about our favorite things in spring. Let me know if you do this tag yourself, I will love to check it out! I will tag some specific people at the post though, because I would love to see what they’re loving this season. Let’s get started!

Image

Favorite spring nail polish? Sadly I never wear nail polish, not because I don’t want to, but that’s a long story… However, if I was going to wear it, I would go for either a baby pink like essie’s fiji, or a mint, like essie’s mint candy apple.

Favorite spring candle? IKEA candles are a great, cheap alternative if you can’t get bath and body works. The rose one is great for spring!

Favorite body spray/perfume for spring? Lulu rose by Lulu Castagnette! I’ve also talked about this before, it’s a lovely fragrance, light, young and innocent, very floral!

What is your must-have lip color this spring? I feel like I talk about his lipstick way too much, but this is L’oreal rouge caresse in tempting lilac, and it’s the perfect blue based pink for the season. I like cooler shades of pink because they make my teeth look wither than warmer tones do, so that’s a quick tip for you. It has an amazing texture, very light and moisturizing!

Image

Show us your favorite spring dress! Here it is! I couldn’t get a full body photo, but it basically has a fitted, white top attached to a flowy, high-waisted floral skirt, but all in one piece! I got it from H&M last spring and I love it!

Image

What’s your favorite flower? I love all kinds of flowers, but specially tulips!

Image

Favorite spring scarf/accessory? My favorite accessories are cute, delicate bracelets that you can stack. The top one has an adorable, turquoise cross, the middle one is made of leather and has some bronze charms, and the bottom one is braided with pink fabric and bronze chains, also with little charms. I got them from massimu dutti and a local seller, but you can find similar ones on etsy.com.

What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!) For makeup, I just love the dewy, fresh faced makeup. The bright lips are also really nice, but I’m not that bold! For fashion, I don’t think the pastels are still in, but I will probably wear them forever. This year, pistachio is really in, and I love it! I’ve been wearing this sweater all the time, it’s a very light, cotton sweater, and guess what color it is? Pistachio!

What is spring like where you live? I live in portugal, more specifically in the north, less than a mile away from the shore, so it never gets too hot or too cold, just slightly warmer. The sun shines bright and the flowers start blooming, it’s really nice!

What’s your favorite thing about spring? Just the fact that everyone seems happier, it puts me in such a good mood!

Are you a spring cleaner? I wish I could say that, but sadly I’m not…

Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation? I’m not sure if I will go on actual vacation in the next couple of months, but I’ve already made lots of fun plans that I’m really excited for!

I switched up the order in my questions, so here they are again, in case you do this tag yourself!
